ASSOCIATION OF FORMER AGODI RESIDENTS.(A.F.A.R)

In less than 24 hours time, the land of virtue would hold her gubernatorial election,it promises to be competitive,in the light of this news had it that security has been beef up in the state to paralyse any form of electoral malpractices and outbreak of violence.

However,Osun state was formerly known with the slogan "The state of the living spring" but recently had it changed to "The land of virtue"
Lovely, isn't it?in the view of this i believe the forthcoming election in the state would show how really virtuous the state residents are .
Besides,i am not writing in favour of any of the gubernatorial candidate as partisan politics is something i outrightly abhor, the syndrome of 'from prison to power' as well as the granting of amnesty to people who have committed penal offences is fast becoming the in-thing in our country. A case study of the Kano-born former dictatorial head of state whose marskman was granted amnesty as well as his son who would possibly be contesting for kano state governorship come 2015. Another is a National party chieftain who recently completed his one year jail term in lagos prison over misappropriation of public fund has his wife recently appointed as the Director general of an anti-drug abuse agency. What a country do we live in? Should we say criminality or immodesty is being reward?
And now to the state of Osun, prince Olagunsoye oyinlola,a former PDP chieftain and governor of Osun state recently made a statement and i quote "I don't know who killed Bola Ige, only God knows that but I know that the candidate of PDP in Osun State was in jail in Agodi, and when he wanted to nominate a minister, he chose Jelili Adesiyan, my former commissioner. They were both in Agodi, when they wanted replace me as the national secretary, they picked Prof. Oladipo. They were both in Agodi together.
Their proposed senatorial candidate in Osun central was also with them in Agodi prison. Now some of us that are not criminals have been marginalized. Why? Must we all go to prison or become criminals before we can be relevant in the PDP?"
From prison to power, for one to have been convicted by a court of law definitely one has committed a penal offence, thus the questions begging for reasonable answers are, should someone of a questionable character takes the mantle of leadership in a state? is there a governing course taken in prison?(Then why frm prison to power?) Has it been the same in other countries?
