The source told Thisday News that this was the reason he was absent at the ongoing consultations for the  the chairmanship post of the  Board of Trustees (BoT) of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The position contenders are said to be past interim National Chairman, Chief Bisi Akande, Chief Audu Ogbeh and Alhaji Kawo Baraje.

Interim boss, Chief Bisi Akande is said to be the front runber for the position due to the way he was able to manage otherwise explosive issues such as the last national convention of the party.

Tinubu was governor of Lagos state for 8 years after which his anointed successor and incumbent governor took over.

Tinubu is the leader of the APC, the major opposition party in Nigeria.
